Saints beat reporter Jeff Duncan doesn’t expect the team to use its franchise tag on free agent FS Darren Sharper. “Can’t see the Saints franchising a 34-year-old safety,” Duncan said in response to a question on Twitter. Retaining Sharper figures to be one of New Orleans’ priorities, but paying him in the $6.5 million range isn’t happening.
