Wyche Reports: Saints likely will use franchise tag on Sharper

It looks like New Orleans would like to have just one more year of Darren Sharper's services before cutting him loose, though it is possible that the team could try and sign him to a two- or three-year deal in order to have him finish out his career in the Big Easy.

NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche went Around The League on NFL Network’s NFL Total Access on Monday, discussing a number of free agents’ futures. From what he’s hearing, Wyche believes the Saints will apply the franchise tag to unrestricted free-agent FS Darren Sharper.
