Darren Sharper Not Franchised: Should Giants Inquire about Safety Net?

Reports coming out of Saints camp are that the team will not put their franchise tag on Darren Sharper. It has yet to be revealed if they will attempt to sign him to another deal or not.

One thing is certain if Sharper does become a free agent: The New York Giants should at least consider him.

Sharper is reportedly looking for a long-term deal, which may be tough to come by considering he is 34 and the 2011 season may be in jeopardy. But the Giants may be willing to take the risk.
